Clinic Etiquette & Prescription Refill Policy

Masking Policy

Please bring a mask to all appointments, as masking requirements may change with little notice. Having a mask with you ensures you’re prepared if masking is required at the time of your visit.

Footwear Policy

Outdoor footwear is not permitted inside the clinic. You are welcome to bring indoor footwear if preferred. Disposable shoe covers are available for purchase at the front desk.

Prescription Renewal Policy

At Trenton-Brighton Medical Clinic, we are committed to providing exceptional, accessible care through regular, after-hours, and weekend clinics. A key part of this commitment includes the timely and safe management of your prescriptions.

Regular Medication Reviews

To ensure your safety and the effectiveness of your treatment, regular medication reviews are required.

These reviews allow us to:

  • Monitor your treatment plan
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of your current medications
  • Address any health changes or concerns

We strongly encourage all patients to bring an up-to-date list of active medications to each appointment. This is especially important if you’ve had recent visits to emergency rooms or specialists where medication changes may have occurred.

Advance Notice

Please book your prescription refill appointments in advance, either by contacting our office directly or scheduling online. This helps us manage your care efficiently and avoid delays.

Prescription Duration

Unless otherwise specified, prescriptions are typically issued for:

  • Three months at a time
  • With three refills, covering up to one year total

Refill Authorization

All prescription refills must be authorized by your provider following a review of your medical history and current health status. Each request—whether by phone, form, fax, email, or pharmacy communication—requires time and professional resources.

Note: A $40 fee applies for prescription renewals requested without an in-clinic visit.

Pharmacy Communication

To avoid delays, please ensure:

  • We have your preferred pharmacy on file
  • Your pharmacy has the correct contact information for our clinic

This ensures prescriptions are processed smoothly and in a timely manner.

No-Show Policy

Please be advised that our missed appointment (no-show) fee is $75. We appreciate timely notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
